An extravagant large pictorial sampler worked in coloured silks on a cream wool ground. Berlin patterns first published in Germany have been adapted to produce a three dimensional effect by careful shading of the silks. A two part pictorial centre panel full of striking images depicting every day life is surrounded by a wide floral border.
Contained in the original maple frame.
